Seasonly speaking, Advent is one of our preparing seasons. It’s made up of “getting ready” days. During these weeks we prepare our hearts to draw closer to God before we enter into a celebratory season. During preparation seasons like Advent and Lent, we often pick-up things. Perhaps this year you’ll journey through a Jessee Tree devotional or some other reading with your family to help you prepare your hearts for the coming of Jesus on Christmas morning.
During the season of Advent we’re offering Kid's Catechism Hour on Sunday mornings. In children's church we spend our time worshiping together and unpacking stories from the Bible. This time will look and feel a bit different. With the help of a resource from Storymakers, we’ll be going through a brief overview of the essentials of our faith that we don’t always get to discuss on Sunday mornings: The Ten Commandments, The Lord’s Prayer, The Apostles Creed and Signs of Grace.
This class is designed for 1st-5th grade students. If you’re interested in having your children pick up something that helps them intentionally think about their faith, we encourage you to sign up.
