Good Friday 2024
On this night we encounter the mystery of Christ’s crucifixion. As we have all week, we find ourselves immersed in the story, becoming part of the crowd crying out for Jesus’ death. We reflect on his suffering and sacrifice for the life of the world. The service is solemn and contemplative. We are invited forward to venerate the cross by bowing, kneeling, or kissing. The words we sing as we do are instructive: “We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you, for by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.”
Deacon Daryl will preach.
Come early! Before the service, at 6 pm, Nick Chambers will lead us through the Stations of the Cross, a liturgical and artistic meditation on every step of the story of the crucifixion.
